SPEAKER: JOANNA VANDERVLUGT

TOPIC: FACT MEETS FICTION

Joanna Vandervlugt will speak about the connections between her career working as a legal assistant, including with the Nanaimo and Victoria Crown Counsel offices and the Police Complaints Commissioner and her career as a published author of mysteries and thrillers.

Joanna will talk about her book The Unravelling – a novel set around a suspicious murder in Victoria and which explores female empowerment, issues of impartiality and vigilante justice. Bringing her experiences in the real legal world to the world of publishing, she will explore how she combines fact and fiction in her creative work.
